monterey bay california
aug 2004

this is one place I need to get back to. I did two dives with my buddy pete, an accomplished tech diver and Bay area expert now living in Seattle. I took pictures on my second of two dives, so obviously we saw the best stuff on the first dive. dry suits are the norm as water temperatures hover in the 50's most of the year. Normal vis is 20 to 50 feet, improving with depth.

monterey bay is an amazing cold water system that rivals the best caribbean reefs I've seen. with it's abundance of color and life, walls and pinnacles, kelp trees and big creatures everywhere, it's just plain fun and exciting.

this dive was sadly the end of my film usage underwater. my N90 camera and housing will be on eBay soon to make way for my new D70 digital system.
